Peregrination, per-i-gruh-ney-shuhn, n. a journey, especially a long or meanderig one

The rules

  1. “Birding a county” means spending at least one hour birding deliberately, not incidentally, keeping a complete list of birds seen. In virtually every case I will spend far longer (for me one of the great attractions of birding is its slow pace). So far the shortest amount of time I have spent is 2 hours 15 minutes, at the Clarkesville Greenway in Habersham County. The longest is nearly five hours at Fort Yargo SP in Barrow County.

  2. I started with a blank map.

  3. In the 25 or so counties I had already birded in my previous life, I am going to a new place, a spot I have never birded before.
